SAY Program
Greater Sycamore Soccer Association (GSSA) has served the residential areas and schools of Montgomery, Blue Ash and Symmes Township for 25+ years with a professional recreational soccer program.
GSSA SAY soccer
GSSA SAY is built on the philosophies of having fun, player development, and team play. Participation in the program is through player registration. These are the following levels in which to play, Instructional (U6), Passers (U7/U8), Wings (U9/U10), Strikers (U11/U12), Kickers (U13/U14), Minors (U15/U16), and Seniors (U17/U18). Because of the two ages per level, kids returning the next year to the same team are kept together as a ‘core’. Younger players, and new older players, are randomly placed on teams, in which during the random draw process teams must be balanced to within one player for each age. This processmay cause the moevement of a returning player off a team to which he/she thought they were returning. All SAY teams will play in the SAY North or SAY South leagues. Strikers level and up will travel within the SAY North/South league. Wings and below will pay ‘in-house’ or just between GSSA teams.
Commitment The level of time and financial commitment will be significantly less than GSSA United soccer. This program is offered separately both in the spring and the fall. The spring season is eight games, while the fall season has 10 games and tournaments. There is no connection between spring and fall seasons. Each spring and fall season will cost only the registration fee, and any late fees, to play. In return you will receive expert coaching by licensed coaches and assistants interested in player and team development. GSSA’s club coach/trainer licensing requirements will set the standard for the greater Cincinnati area.
Coaches Coaches for GSSA SAY are required to obtain a SAY certification in order to coach. Coaches interested in the older levels should also have an interest in continuing soccer education and progressive licensing.
Players Players interested in playing should fill out a GSSA Registration form, or ask a Board member for more information. Our web site will have information posted at www.gssasoccer.com. or leave your name and telephone number on the GSSA voice mail 513/-395-7291 if you have additional questions. Application forms for GSSA SAY are the same as the CLUB select form and will be distributed via your coach and through the schools. They are also available at Blue Ash Rec. Center and the Montgomery City Hall.
